Delegated Decision notices have been issued by the council today confirming that Cabinet member Cllr George Brown, has approved the sale of two former middle schools.
As reported previously, council officers were seeking permission to treat Spectrum Housing as a Special Purchaser in connection with the sale of former West Wight Middle School in Freshwater.
It was agreed today:
THAT Spectrum Housing Group be treated as a Special Purchaser for the former West Wight Middle School site to enable the provision of affordable housing as set out in the report, subject to a further report to confirm that the council is achieving best consideration for the disposal.
Swanmore Middle School
The site of former Swanmore Middle School in Ryde also received approval today from the Cabinet member.
It was agreed today:
THAT the property be sold to the party making the highest bid for the freehold interest, and who is in the strongest financial position to proceed, conditional on the Department for Education approval to dispose.
