Thanks to Clare from West Wight Sports Centre for details of this forthcoming Swimarathon. Sounds like it should be fun.
We’re delighted to welcome the Sandown and Shanklin Lions Club to West Wight Sports Centre on Saturday March 31st for their annual Swimarathon.
This great community event is an opportunity to bring people together, taking part in a fun competition whilst raising money for charity at the same time.
30th anniversary for Swimarathon
This is the Swimarathon’s 30th anniversary so it’s even more exciting that they’ve decided to bring it to West Wight Sports Centre for the first time and that one of the chosen charities is the charity that runs the Centre – West Wight Sports Centre Trust.
What does it involve?
Teams of six people get together and swim in a relay for one hour.
Each team nominates a charity of its choice and money raised will be split between that charity and the Lions nominated charity. There are prizes in different categories for those that want to get competitive!
It’s open to all ages – so you could do it as a family, a school, youth group, club or just as a group of friends.
Choose your own charity
There’s no minimum sponsorship required and you can choose your own charity to split the funds with.
To find out more contact Steve Raybould on 07834680374, have a look at the Lions Club website or pick up an entry form from reception at the Centre
Look forward to seeing you!
