Gareth Wokes, a Sandown resident, has just released a new children’s book titled “Mojo at the Seaside”.
The book is published by Bumble Bee Books in collaboration with Olympia Publishing.
About the book
“Mojo at the Seaside” tells the tale of Mojo, a friendly, little robot who lives on a spaceship. Mojo is dedicated to helping the people on the spaceship, especially the children.
In this heartwarming story, Mojo becomes a hero when he assists a stranded whale on the beach.
The story aims to capture the imagination of young readers, blending adventure and compassion and features illustrations from another Islander, Zoe Sadler.
About the author
Gareth Wokes shares his inspiration behind writing children’s stories.
He says,
“My enthusiasm for writing children’s stories stems from the enormous pleasure I derived from reading bedtime stories to my own children.”
Gareth fondly recalls the nightly routine, which provided him with quality time with his children and a way to unwind after a busy day at the office.
He hopes his books offer other parents a similar experience of bonding and relaxation.
