Sandown could see new home through conversion of a former commercial premises

The owner of a premises on Sandown High Street is seeking to convert part of it to provide a much-needed residential property.

The rear section of 11 High Street was originally part of a solicitor’s practice. The front of the site is currently subject to a planning application to convert it into a launderette (24/01074/FUL).

The applicant says they are seeking to “convert the balance to a residential unit with a first floor extension to house the kitchen/dining/lounge area”.

The new residential property would be accessed via the passageway on the side of the site.

You can have your say on the application by visiting the council’s planning register (24/01234/FUL).

The public consultation closes on Monday 9th September 2024.
