In perfect summer weather, Sandown was treated to a day-long feast of family entertainment on Saturday.
From the Children’s Carnival in the morning to the Main Carnival parade in the evening, thousands flocked to the town to enjoy the fun.
Coueslant: Really pleased our visitors and residents had a day to remember
Sandown Carnival chair, Paul Coueslant, said,
“We’re really pleased our visitors and residents had a day to remember.
“Now we move on to Sandown Bay Regatta the weekend after next when we hope the sun stays shining.”
Coueslant: Forever grateful to the public for their donations
He had a special word for the team behind the organisation which has entertained Sandown since Victorian times.
“As probably the longest-serving community group in town, we’re run entirely by volunteers who’re proud to carry on the tradition of providing free events each year, and we’re forever grateful to the public for their donations which help us cover our costs.”
