A family-friendly Isle of Wight event to raise awareness of untreated sewage being pumped into our coast is still going ahead as planned tomorrow (Saturday 27th November).
Although there are weather warnings in place around the country, including part of the Isle of Wight, Sandown Bay appears to be unaffected.
The event starts at 10am on Yaverland Beach. Read more about it on Maria Villa Vine’s article from earlier in the month.
Caution advised if dipping
Ahead of tomorrow’s event, Maria said,
“We need to all remain vigilant for the public’s safety. I would ask people not to dip if they are vulnerable in any way, shape or form.
“If you have a medical condition please do not be tempted to go in.
“The weather may also be atrocious so again, please be careful of yourselves and others.
“I want everyone safe and home. If you are home alone after a dip, remember that hypothermia can set in after your dip. Please be safe.”
