Seasonal transformation: Village Hall to offer cool space for social hub

An Isle of Wight parish council is transforming its warm space, which has turned into a ‘vital part’ of the village’s social scene.

Northwood Parish Council’s warm space and community hub started at Northwood Village Hall in December and has helped residents since with free refreshments, support and a social experience.

Community space to continue
As the seasons change, the warm space will turn into a cool one, where the community can still experience the social interaction while enjoying the usual refreshments and games, plus cool drinks and ice creams.

Helper, Cllr Richard Martin, said it was important that individuals and their families have somewhere local to go for help and advice during these challenging times.

Freemason’s donation
Earlier this week, the parish council was given a donation of £381 from Freemason Vectensian Lodge 7852 to support the community hub and aid the seasonal transformation.

Cllr Martin said the support had been fantastic, with other donations from the community, including catering equipment from St George’s School, and it had become a vital part of Northwood’s social scene.
