Police can confirm they are investigating a report of a sexual assault at the Bestival music festival on the Isle of Wight.
Officers were called during the early hours of Saturday morning (September 10, 2011) after a 15-year-old girl from the Isle of Wight approached stewards on the campsite.
The girl was looked after by police officers and staff with expertise and experience in dealing with sexual offences.
London man arrested
A 21-year-old man from London was arrested shortly after 4.30am on Saturday, September 10, 2011 and taken to a police station for questioning.
He was later bailed until October 19, 2011 pending further enquiries.
Police are treating this report as an isolated case. There is no evidence to suggest a link to any other crimes.
Bestival promoters are assisting police with enquiries.
