Remember remember the fifth of November. Tonight (Wednesday) sees a plethora of firework displays planned across the Island.
In the South we have the annual Ventnor Firework Display on the seafront. Kicking off at 7.30pm the Spyglass Inn always put on a brilliant display. Note, if you’re heading from the Shanklin direction, Church Road Shanklin closes at 7pm for roadworks, so you’ll be diverted through Wroxall.
Moving further north, you can enjoy the huge Arreton Village bonfire and firework display. This kicks off at 7pm and parking is free with at entrance £1.50.
Finally, over in the West, residents will be enjoying the return of the Guy Fawkes Night in Yarmouth. Another free event, starting at 6pm with music, mulled wine, hot chestnuts, toffee apples and the Guy Competition in the Square at 6.30pm. The parade will lead to the common for the firework display.
Later in the week
On Friday 7th November, Newport football ground is hosting the Newport Parish Council Fireworks Event. Gates open at 5pm with fireworks at 7pm. Ticket prices will be £4 per adult, £2 per child with special offers for families.
On Saturday 8th November, if you’re further north, you can enjoy a free firework display in Cowes at the Isle of Wight Community Club on Park Road. The event starts at 7pm with fireworks on at around 8pm.
