I missed the chance of putting the icandi exhibition into the Events Diary last week as we had the site down, but on Thursday night last week, there was a live arts event at Joe Daflos in Newport.
If I’ve got this right (saw a piece in the CP couple of weeks ago, but it went the way of the woodburner since), for one day there were artworks adorning the walls from contemporary artists (many of which you would’ve seen at previous Shopping Trolleys) such as Paul Brown, Kitty Linnington, Adam Harvey, Rachel Berry, TDK, Gareth Rowntree and Patrick Wood among others.
In the evening, there was planned funk, soul, jazz, electronica, dub and ambient lounge from guest djs DRUT (I <3 Audrey) and TS (Shoom Promotions).
Also in store for any lucky souls who made it up there, an unsigned band showcase with limited edition tracks from For Wanda, Phreakazoid, Doctor Jones, Beau Brummell and Nateleys Whore.
So, as we didn’t make it along due to being off the Island, if you did or know anyone else who did and would like to write a review for the blog, get in touch.
Photos would be a bonus! [The wonderful painting shown here is by the wonderful artist called Rachel Berry – she rocks!]
