Share your voice: exciting writing opportunities for Isle of Wight authors

Are you an Isle of Wight writer looking for an opportunity to share your work?

Naked Figleaf Press has two exciting opportunities now open for submissions: The Figlet Issue Four and the Biosphere Writing Competition.

The Figlet Issue Four
Writers are invited to submit work to The Figlet, the Isle of Wight’s homegrown literary magazine, by 30 March.

Alongside general topics, you can send pieces on this issue’s featured theme, “Feast or Famine”.

You’ll find guidelines and submission details on The Figlet website.

Biosphere writing competition: Where words and wildlife meet
For those inspired by the natural world, Naked Figleaf Press, in partnership with the Biosphere Festival 2025, is excited to announce the Biosphere Writing Competition.

Writers are invited to explore the theme ‘Where Words and Wildlife Meet’ in fiction or creative non-fiction.

Winning entries will be published in a special edition and featured at the Biosphere Festival 2025.

The deadline for submissions is 30th April 2025. Full entry details can be found on the website.

Celebrating vibrant writing talent
Both calls celebrate the vibrant writing talent of the Isle of Wight and provide a platform for local voices to be heard.

Whether you’re an established writer or an emerging wordsmith looking for publication, these opportunities invite you to take part in the Island’s thriving literary scene.

We look forward to reading your work.
