Newport fire fighters fundraised at Sainsbury’s in Newport recently during an awareness day for a charity that supports fire fighters and their families, The Fire Fighters Charity.
Sainsbury’s had invited local fire fighters to visit the store as part of a regional event to raise awareness for the charity.
An amazing amount of £551 was raised in just one day through donations from shoppers.
The Charity
The Fire Fighters Charity is the UK’s leading provider of services that enhance quality of life for serving and retired fire fighters, fire personnel and their families.
Over the years, they’ve helped hundreds of thousands of individuals by providing world-class treatment and support services.
It costs £9m annually to keep the Charity running and they receive no government funding, relying completely on the generosity and enthusiasm of their supporters.
