As tweeted earlier this morning, on possibly one of the busiest travel days on the Island, signal failures on Islandline trains caused unwelcome disruption for commuters and school children.
The fault occurred just after 7am and no trains had been able to leave Shanklin station since for well over an hour.
Signal failures are very unusual on our Island train line, but on a day when tens of thousands of people are leaving the Island from the Isle of Wight festival, it couldn’t have come at a worse time.
