Signed petition sheets objecting to loss of parking spaces stolen from Post Office

Someone opposed to signatures being gathered for a petition objecting to the removal of parking spaces on St Catherine Street, Ventnor, has removed signed petition sheets from the local Post Office.

Andy Smith from Ventnor Post Office said four sheets (with around 17 signatures on each sheet) had been ripped off the paper petition left out for residents to sign.

Sign again
He has urged anyone who had already signed the petition at the Post Office to go back there and sign again.

As reported by previously News OnTheWight, the signatures being gathered through the paper petitions will be handed into the Isle of Wight council on 10th December by ward councillor, Gary Peace.

Excellent news! Is it know which day of next week the proposed re-opening is intended…?

I’m very excited that one of my favourite walking routes is soon to reopen, but rather than celebrating the engineering project to restore it, shouldn’t we be investigating the weaknesses in local management that led to the failure of this important infrastructure?

It’s widely held that if you want a major job done properly, ask Mackley.
But that doesn’t excuse the years of neglect – that’s dowm largely to chronic, sustained funding starvation from central government, so that it can be watsed on vanity projects and personal pocket-lining.
