This weekend’s Isle of Arts Festival returns to Ventnor with not just comedy, dance, music and art, but also some fascinating talks.
From the mouth of Mr Nice
Friday night sees author and raconteur Howard Marks head to Ventnor. You may have read the book or even seen the film, so why not hear it from Mr Nice in person.
Howard will be charming the audience with stories from his own life as well as his latest crime thriller, The Score. His talk should make for good conversation in the pub afterwards.
Book your tickets now for the 9.30pm show.
Twin passions from Stuart Maconie
Friday night also offers what is sure to be a fascinating talk from broadcaster Stuart Maconie.
Musos will will know Stuart from his years as a music broadcaster, but on Friday night he’ll be sharing anecdotes from his twin passions, music and fell walking.
Considering that Stuart is one of the UK’s best-selling travel writers, and that his work has been compared with Bill Bryson, Alan Bennett and John Peel, this promises to be a great couple of hours.
