Six new boats for Newport Rowing Club officially named

Newport Rowing Club celebrated the expansion of their fleet this week, at a naming ceremony for six boats.

They have acquired and refurbished six river boats so far this year, alongside training sculls, and a coastal four, to give their growing membership a greater choice of boats for both recreational and competitive rowing.

Three of the boats were named in recognition of the contribution of Terry Blunden, Janice Groves, and Chris Mullin, who supported the club over the last 60 years, both on and off the water.

Two further boat names were generously  sponsored by John Maclean, of Maclean Construction Ltd.
