Refuse/Recycling collections
If your refuse was due to be collected yesterday – Monday 11th Jan – and you live on a road that has been completely cleared of snow and ice(predominantly the main roads ) they hope to be able to collect your refuse today – 12th January.
Roads that have not been cleared will not be collected due to safety concerns. Residents should leave their bin bags at the front of their properties. Any bin bags that have been left out for some time and have frozen to the ground may not be collected.
Island Waste will also be running a collection on Saturday morning (16 January) weather permitting. This run will follow the usual Friday collections, due to the collection being a day behind. Dependent on the weather, refuse lorries will only collect refuse from the front of homes on main routes.
