Isle of Wight care home, Stonehaven, has been placed in Special Measures reveals a CQC report published today (Monday).
A report released in May 2015, found that although staff at the home were found to be hard-working, there weren’t enough in place to meet residents’ needs.
Inadequate leadership
During this latest visit, although they found a clear management structure in place and most people praised the management of the home, inspectors criticised how the service was led and rated it as ‘Inadequate’.
The report reveals that “some staff described management as ‘supportive’ and ‘approachable’, but others described a culture of blame and bullying. There was high turnover of care staff, including three members of staff who had been dismissed for misconduct”.
Inspectors say if there is not a significant improvement in the next six months they may take enforcement action.
