200 members of Girlguiding Isle of Wight recently attended a special screening of The Little Mermaid.
From Rainbows aged four to Rangers aged 18, plus leaders, everyone felt part of the bigger story as a screening of this Disney remake of the classic story was showing across the UK to Girlguiding members.
Commodore Cinema in Ryde
Throughout the UK, most members attended Odeon Cinemas in a partnership with Girlguiding but on the Island, the Commodore Cinema, Ryde facilitated the show.
All members attending these special events will receive a Little Mermaid Badge.

Linda Stone, Girlguiding Island Commissioner, commented after the event,
“Once again, all the girls have had the opportunity to meet with other girls outside their own units. Some were just amazed as to how many Rainbows, Brownies and Guides there are on the Island.

Opportunity to meet the stars
Prior to the premiere of the film in a wonderful collaboration between The Female Lead and Girlguiding, a group of Brownies from south London had a remarkable opportunity to meet and interview the stars of Disney’s highly anticipated remake of The Little Mermaid.
Eleanor, an eight-year-old Brownie, and Naomi, a seven-year-old Brownie from the 62nd Croydon Brownies, had the privilege of interviewing Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King, Daveed Diggs, and Jacob Tremblay about their experiences while filming the new live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid.
