If you’ve ever thought about being a sports coach or trainer but not really known how to go about it, one of the new courses being run by the Isle of Wight Council (IWC) should shine some light on the subject for you.
The courses are being run by Sports Coach UK and RunningSports with additional funding from the IWC using funds from Sport England meaning the courses will cost just £15 per person.
The courses will be taking place in March and October at the Riverside Centre in Newport.
You can chose from the following subjects
- A guide to long-term athlete development
- A club for all
- Equity in your coaching
- Safeguarding and protecting children
Lee Matthews, Isle of Wight Council Community Development Manager said: “We work hard to assist sports clubs on the Island and providing training opportunities is just one of the ways in which we achieve this. We have managed to keep the cost down which is important as many of the people involved in Island sport volunteer their time.”
Naturally place will be limited, so make sure you get in touch with the sports unit asap to book your place by calling them on 823818 or e-mail [email protected]
