Cowes based company, SpyPrints, have presented a cheque for £300 to the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, the charity that takes young people in recovery from cancer sailing to rebuild their confidence.
The cheque was presented to the charities patron and founder Ellen MacArthur, along with some of the young people sailing on the Trusts first 18-24 sailing trip of this summer, by Dave Wright, owner of SpyPrints and an Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust volunteer.
Donations from hoodie sales
SpyPrints, a vinyl graphics, apparel and design company have been selling unisex hoodies printed with the Trusts logo to raise funds. From every hoodie sold £5 is donated to the Trust.
Dave Wright, owner of the company, has been a permanent volunteer for the Trust since he moved to the Island four years ago, helping with everything from fundraising to skippering on the four day sailing trips,
“I was looking to give something back and I chose a sailing charity as that’s something I’m interested in, when I heard about the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust I knew it was something I wanted to help with. The work they do is so valuable and it’s gratifying to be a part of it.”
Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust
The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is a charity that supports young people aged between 8-24 who are recovering from cancer.
Launched in 2003 by Dame Ellen MacArthur, the Trust’s main activity is taking young people on four-day sailing trips to help them rebuild their confidence, giving the young people a chance to test themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
