A new exhibition starts this coming weekend at Quay Arts.
It might not be in the same league as Bridget Riley or Roy Lichtenstein, but will certainly show some interesting perspectives.
If you’ve been up to Quay Arts in the last couple of weeks, you might’ve seen the Stewart Orr exhibition, The Art of Travel in the West Gallery.
Pupils produce their own exhibition
Children from St Georges School in Newport have been taking part in an interesting project working with the artist Chris Jenkins.
They were set the challenge of creating work inspired by Stewart’s exhibition and produce and stage their own exhibition in the Learning Curve gallery.
It opens this Saturday and runs until 6th November, so make sure you pop in to take a look next time you’re in Newport.
This project was funded by NADFAS, the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts, the local Vectis Association and by Quay Arts.
What’s NADFAS?
NADFAS is an arts charity with 340 societies in the UK and Europe.
Vectis Decorative and Fine Arts Society (DFAS) meet for an illustrated art related lecture one evening a month at the Medina Theatre, Newport.
