Anyone who reads the County Press will have noticed in February and March, the three full page and one half page ad placed by Standards Not Tiers.
The purpose of the adverts was to raise awareness of the proposed changes to the education system.
Members of Standards Not Tiers have worked tirelessly over the last few years to see an increase in the standard of education on the Wight, and worked flat out over the public consultation period.
Many putting their own businesses and family life on hold – in order to research the background, raise awareness through various media sources – ensuring that the issue achieved national coverage and organised marches and rallies. They spoke with educationalists, members of the DCFS and even Schools Minister, Jim Knight himself.
So why are we telling you all this?
Well, the time has come to pay the bills to the County Press for the adverts and although SNT have managed to raise £6,600 of the £8,000 needed but are still a couple of grand short.
Anything, no matter how small will help towards raising the last £1400 needed to settle these bills.
