Step back in time with ‘Bonchurch in 99 Old Postcards’ now available

The Ventnor and District Local History Society’s latest publication, Bonchurch in 99 Old Postcards, the follow-up to last year’s popular Ventnor in 99 Old Postcards, has just been published.

It covers such topics as Bonchurch Beach, the Old Church, the New Church, East Dene, Hotels, Houses, Monk’s Bay, the Landslip, Multiviews, Bonchurch Pond, Bonchurch Inn, Rosecliff, Shops, Sports, Steps, Tea Rooms and Bonchurch Village.

Snapshot of life from 1900s through 1970s
The selection of cards from the Ventnor and District Local History Society’s archives and from the personal collection of Mr Graham Wheeler gives a snapshot of life and times in and around the village from the early 1900s through the 1970s.

Of particular interest are the many cards showing views that were altered or features that were lost forever in the December 2023 landslip.
