After Saturday’s Stop The Cuts march, we caught up with Phil Wood, Unison Regional Secretary for the South East.
Phil echoed the words of Mark Chiverton, expressing his pleasure at how many people from different walks of life attended the march against the massive public service cuts being proposed.
As he had mentioned to the audience at the rally, Phil told VB that the Big Society was all around us already.
Volunteering is nothing new he told us, giving plenty of examples of where people already volunteer such as with the Red Cross, St John’s Ambulance, football and dance groups to mention just a few.
