Strings Bar and Venue celebrates Independent Venue Week with diverse music lineup

Award winning music establishment Strings Bar and Venue present a packed schedule as part of Independent Venue Week (IVW) in the last week of January.

Schedule of events

Independent Venue Week (IVW) is an annual, week-long celebration of grassroots music venues and the individuals who work tirelessly to maintain these vital spaces.

Typically held in late January, it features live performances all aimed at spotlighting the cultural and economic significance of small music venues.

Three of the six nights of music are already sold out, with ex-Kasabian front man Tom Meighan and trance pioneer Chicane selling out their respective shows in record time.

Strings are encouraging the local music lovers to come out to one or more of the other live shows during that week.

A spokesperson for Strings said,

“We have programmed a mix of genres throughout the week that we’re sure will be welcomed by many.

“We will also have limited edition merchandise available, of which sale profits can be reinvested into the venue.”

Indie-Pop singer-songwriter Natalie Shay opens IWV on Tuesday 28th January with advanced tickets at just £10. Local Isle of Wight ‘Jank Punk’ band The Pill, supported by other locals Ugly Ozo, will take to the stage on Thursday 30th January with advanced tickets at £8.

Finally, Indie-Folk/Americana band The Dunwells will close the week on Sunday 2nd February, supported by locals Martin Newnham and Andy Parkin of The Hanging Baskets.

Remaining tickets are available on the website.
