Customer satisfaction among those travelling with Southern Vectis is at 89 percent, an independent survey has found.
The Isle of Wight bus operator scored highly in an overall satisfaction rating, according to national watchdog – Passenger Focus.
Customers were surveyed between September and November 2014 for the annual survey. They gave scores and views on various aspects of the firm’s performance – including convenience, punctuality, service, comfort and condition of both vehicle and shelter.
Andrew Wickham, managing director of Southern Vectis said,
“I am pleased with the overall performance of Southern Vectis, during what has been a very important year for us.
“We are a little down on last year’s impressive 92 percent overall satisfaction levels – but we hope to rectify that by making a widespread improvements to the services we offer here.
“Following a comprehensive consultation exercise, we have introduced significant enhancements to our timetable. And we have also invested heavily in our route 1 fleet – just this week launching around £1.2 million worth of new double decker and single decker buses.
“There is always more we can do to make travelling with us an even more pleasurable experience for our customers – and the latest Passenger Focus survey will help us work with the local authority to identify any further areas of improvement.”
