OnTheWight has received a report of an unexploded bomb being discovered in East Cowes.
Police have confirmed to OnTheWight,
“A suspicious object, which could be historic ordnance, has been found on a building site in Kingston Road, East Cowes.
“A cordon has been put in place to ensure the safety of the public.
“An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team from the Army have been called to the scene to investigate.”
The police cordon is on Kingston Road and a PCSO is blocking access to Cadets Row.

Police have provided an update,
We can confirm that the device found at a building site in Kingston Road has been safely disposed of by the EOD team.
The road has been reopened.
