Remember the incredible story of Natascha Lambert, the 15 year old Islander who is severely disabled through Athetoid Cerebral Palsy yet set herself the challenge of sailing around the Island single-handedly last weekend?
We caught up with her Mum earlier in the week to find out how it went last weekend and were not surprised to hear of Tascha’s success.
She set off in her adapted yacht, the Miss Isle, at 6am on Sunday morning to a canon start by the Royal Yacht Squadron. Luckily last weekend was a good one for tides and light and Tascha achieved her goal in just 12 hours and 25 minutes.
Tascha’s mum, Amanda, told On The Wight that at the closing line, there wasn’t a dry eye on any of the support boats.
Almost achieved the target
Aiming to raise £10,000 for the RNLI, Isle of Wight Scope and Ellen MacArthur Trust, Tascha has reached £8,500 already. A fantastic acheivement in itself.
If you would like to support Natasha, she has set up a donation page.
If you prefer to make a online donation in person rather than online or want to offer help with future challenges, get in touch with Amanda on 299622.
