When Helen Bailey’s son badly cut his foot in the sea on Tuesday afternoon, she never expected so many people to come to their aid.
She’s written to VB this morning, asking us to share her thanks with everyone who helped on Tuesday afternoon. Ed
I just wanted to get a thank you message out to those very kind people who helped me and my son on Gurnard beach on Tuesday afternoon this week.
My son had badly cut his foot in the sea. I have no idea who they were, but to the lady with the dogs who helped me with her first aid knowledge, the lady and her daughter (and grandchild) who drove us to A&E (and even offered to come back and pick us up later if I hadn’t got hold of my husband who had the car) and the 2 windsurfers who carried him to the car – thank you all so much, I really don’t know what I would have done without you all there.
Thank you also to Tina Titcombe who I was chatting with and who stayed with us and got first aid supplies from The Watersedge Cafe – thank you to them too!
For the record, my son is now patched up and recovering nicely – and I did get hold of my husband. The whole episode has been a splendid reminder that there are some great people out there!
