If you fancy some live music this Friday night and jazz is not your thing or you’d rather see the real McCoy than a tribute band, get yourselves down to the Ventnor Winter Gardens.
1960s rhythm and blues band, The Animals will be gracing the stage at the Gardens this week and although they obviously don’t have the full original lineup (Chas Chandler and Dave Rowberry both now sadly gone), they’ll be putting on a top show and hopefully performing some of their greatest tunes such as The House of The Rising Sun, Let the Good Times Roll, Boom Boom, and We Gotta Get Out of This Place.
Check out this video of them playing at Wembley Stadium in 1965 ….
Now, as if The Animals playing in our little old town wasn’t news enough, check out the support band – The Spencer Davies Group. Those of a certain age will remember the lad from Wales who rose to fame with hits such as Gimme Some Lovin, I’m A Man, and Keep On Runnin.
If your brain cells need nudging, take a look at this video below.
This is sure to be a great gig and tickets are selling fast, so better get your skates on if you fancy it.
£17.50 (£15.50 concessions), gig starts at 8.30 and doors open just before 8pm.
