Every once in a while we get news of Island businesses going large, and today’s cover is of the Isle of Wight based Big Screen Media whose services have been enlisted by the renowned fashion company – Harrods.
Broadening their vision
Big Screen Media formed in 2008 and specialises in providing effective digital solutions by offering a wide range of high quality LED and digital signage displays and equipment to suit all applications. Formerly known as ‘Event Advertising Ltd’, they supply LED screens for entertainment and advertising purposes. Three years on and they’re supplying LED screens to the likes of Cowes Week, Silverstone and have been approached by London’s design companies such as Elemental to provide logos for their perfume range.
Starting the year with BSM
Harrods’ Head of windows design, Sarah Southgate, showed explicit fondness of the latest featured advance in LED displays which were part of Harrods January to February window displays, and made the following comment expressing her newly found love for Big Screen Media’s displays:
“Harrods is at the forefront of luxury and innovation in window display and design. Our latest displays have incorporated advanced LED technology, and in doing this it was important we used the correct imagery and the right size of LED pixels to maximise visual impact for customers.”
Six screens
Six LED screens were present in the windows of Harrods, each measuring four metres by three metres – displaying unique content from Harrods magazine. The screens ran in synchronisation with each other, creating a visual experience for customers which provided an animated story-line looking onto Brompton Road.
The Island Company worked in partnership with lighting and video automation specialists Pharos Architectural Controls of London to provide the experience.
The Technical Director and Hire Manager for Big Screen Media concluded that it was a fantastic opportunity to work for such a company and that it was the second time in doing so, in which he felt privileged and looked forward to working with them in the future.
