As we all know, in order to make savings and help rectify the budget deficit, the Isle of Wight Council are keen to dispose of a number of properties over the coming years that they are responsible for.
The latest document detailing those which are earmarked for possible disposal has been released and surprise, surprise what do we find on it?
Yes folks, amongst many others, we found the Ventnor Coastal Visitor Centre.
Regular readers will remember the article we published last month with the rumour that the building was due to be sold.
The response from Barry Cooke, Head of Strategic Asset Management at the Isle of Wight Council was, “the property review is an ongoing process and no decision has yet been taken in respect of the visitor centre. Any such decision will be taken via the democratic processes of the council. The council is categorically not in discussions with any potential buyer of the site.”
If you’d like to see the list of properties that ‘might’ be sold off, just have a gander at the PDF published by the IWC.
