The Robin Hill Adventure Park has announced an exciting new partnership with Alex Kimber, the Executive Chef and Owner of Heron Food IW.
Alex has made a name for himself over the past five years on the Isle of Wight, establishing The Heron restaurants in Ryde and Cowes, followed by The Braii at Nunwell Farm. His reputation for high-quality, locally sourced dining is well-known across the Island.
A new dining experience at Robin Hill
The partnership will see the creation of The Heron at Robin Hill, a seated restaurant featuring an open-plan kitchen and bar. Designed with flexibility in mind, the space will offer both indoor and outdoor dining options.
Positioned at the very top of the park, diners can expect stunning panoramic views sweeping across the valley and up towards Brading Downs, providing a picturesque setting for their meals.
Farm-to-fork dining with a smokehouse twist
The new restaurant will focus on ethical, farm-to-fork dining. Its smokehouse-style menu will centre around BBQ grills, with ingredients sourced from Nunwell Farm and the wider Isle of Wight farming community.
In addition to launching The Heron at Robin Hill, Alex Kimber will collaborate with the park’s in-house catering team, sharing his expertise and contributing menu suggestions for the park’s existing food outlets. These outlets will continue to serve a range of hot and cold dishes for visitors.
A fresh chapter for Robin Hill
This partnership is part of a wider investment by the new Robin Hill Partnership, led by CEO Lee Priddle. Over the past six months, the team has been preparing the adventure park for its April reopening. The 2025 season will feature more than 15 new attractions, including real mini diggers, crazy golf, a boat safari and an indoor ice rink.
Lee Priddle expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration,
“We couldn’t be more delighted about Alex joining us at Robin Hill.
“He’s an incredibly talented chef, and the Heron Food IW brand is a perfect fit with our ambition to provide a premium offering to our visitors.”
Excitement builds for Summer opening
Alex Kimber shared his excitement about the project, saying,
“Robin Hill is an awesome location, and we are super excited to be working with these guys.
“The Heron at Robin Hill further cements what we aim to achieve on the Island: to deliver an outstanding dining experience for guests using the finest locally sourced ingredients.”
The Heron at Robin Hill is set to open in early summer this year. It will be accessible to both Robin Hill visitors and the general public, promising a memorable dining experience in one of the Isle of Wight’s most scenic locations.
