The closure of the Ventnor Winter Gardens will affect more than theatre and music events, the monthly film screenings by the Ventnor Film Society are also having to look for an alternative venue. This in from Chairman of the society, John Salisbury. Ed
We’re sorry to see the Winter Gardens close at last, but we’ve had the feeling that we were using it on borrowed time since the summer.
In the best of all worlds we’d have an alternate venue lined up to move to, but in this world, we’re going to have to to take prompt action to find somewhere.
This means that we’re going to show one last film in the Winter Gardens, next Tues (11th), and have a bit of a farewell party.
The film is ‘The Secret In Their Eyes’, and it’s a cracker – details can be found on Events OnTheWight
The rest of our publicised season is cancelled. We’ll try and show some films later in the Spring, but we’ll publicise those separately, in all the usual places. In the meantime, see you next Tuesday.
