At the end of this week, Historic Ryde Society will be holding two events to celebrate 200 years since the passing of the Ryde Pier Act.
On Friday (13th July) you can take part in the Historic Ryde Society Pub Quiz at Yelf’s Hotel (7pm).
Entry is £3 per head. Booking essential.
On Saturday (14th at 7pm) you’ll be treated to a talk by Lady Lucinda Lambton titled, ‘Temples of Convenience – a history of the lavatory’. Again booking is essential.
Tickets for the talk at All Saints Church, which includes sparkling wine, strawberries and cream, are £6 per person.
