Following our piece last week about the forthcoming Newport elections, we hear from the Newport town clerk that they have uncontested wards, Newport East (Tony Coburn and Geoff Lumley), Newport West (John Ward and David Whittaker) and Parkhurst (Steven Falla and Richard Hollis).
The remaining four wards, Carisbrooke, Newport Central, Newport North and South will have elections on 27th May.
Nominations have now reopened for these four wards and the closing date is 29th April.
