The Town Council and Churches Together in the Ryde Area hosted the 2014 Civic Service on Wednesday evening.
The event, which drew attendees from the community and local businesses, was held at St Mary’s Church, on Ryde High Street.
The theme of this year’s service was ‘Destination Ryde’, a celebration of tourism.
Ryde has been a popular choice for tourism since the Victorian times, its vast beaches and leisure offers welcoming visitors to the Isle of Wight as well as Islanders.
