The case of an Isle of Wight businessman who denies breaching a planning enforcement notice has been pushed back to 2023.
Louis William Tudor Smith appeared at the Isle of Wight Crown Court this week to stand trial on five breaches of an Isle of Wight Council planning enforcement notice, issued in April 2019.
It is alleged between 31st October 2020, and 27th April 2021, Mr Smith failed to comply with the council’s enforcement notice for his land at Merrie Gardens, Lake, which would have seen waste removed and land regraded and re-seeded.
He pleaded not guilty to all the charges in June last year.
More delays
The trial has today (Wednesday) been further delayed.
It was due to start in July last year, but only came to court this week when it was scheduled to be held over four days.
Adjourned until Feb 2023
Due to court pressures and other factors, the trial has been adjourned until 6th February 2023, to allow enough time for the trial to take place.
