If you’re a fan of Elizabethan writers and poets, get this one in your diaries.
On Saturday evening, the Tritone Singers will perform a host of lyrical English songs set to poems by well-known writers such as Shakespeare, Christina Rossetti and others.
They will be singing Songs of Springtime by Moeran, Dream Tryst by Holst, To Daffodils from Five Flower Songs by Britten, The Cloud-Capp’d Towers by Vaughan Williams, To be Sung of a Summer
Night on the Water by Delius.
Also included will be a modern song by director Richard Wilkins, sung by soprano Helen Mansefield together with instrumental pieces on piano and flute by Delius and Lennox Berkeley.
Tickets are £7 and available on the door at St John’s Church, Highpark Road, Ryde.
