Police are continuing to investigate shops suspected of selling illegal drugs and ‘legal high’ substances on the Isle of Wight.
Officers visited a shop in Ryde High Street on August 18, 2010 when a 33-year-old man from Sandown, Isle of Wight was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug, and on suspicion of distributing a harmful substance under General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
Newport shop also investigated
On the same day (August 18, 2010), police also visited a shop in Newport, Isle of Wight where a 50-year-old man from Newport, Isle of Wight was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug, and on suspicion of supplying hazardous materials contrary to General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
These arrests were part of a police operation, which had been planned in response to reports on the Isle of Wight about the supply of illegal drugs and ‘legal high’ substances, including one known as ‘Ivory Wave’.
The two men were taken to Newport Police Station for questioning. They were later released on bail until Friday, October 22, 2010.
Both suspects answered bail as scheduled today (Friday, October 22, 2010) when they were given bail again until November 11, 2010 pending further enquiries.
