Sandown and Lake 3-1 Newport St Georges
Newport began the game strongly and were winning the key battles all over the pitch. They took the lead with a very well worked goal.
In the second half Sandown were much improved; Antony Kettell and Oscar Fitzgerald grabbing goals as well as a penalty converted by captain Jack Youngson.
The man of the match award for Sandown was shared between Harry Woodward and Bud Lloyd, for dominating midfield play.
This was a hard fought win after losing in the Hampshire Cup the previous week to Petersfield Juniors.
Sandown are now near their best again with confidence regained through this win.
Next week Sandown are playing away to Shanklin at the County ground in Shanklin.
A win will help them stay on course for the title.
