Now the holiday season is over, it’s of little surprise that the number of unemployed claimants in Isle of Wight last month rose from August’s figures.
The total number of unemployed claimants on the Island in September was 2,663.
This was up 91 on August’s figures (2,572).
This represents a rate of 4.4% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 337th highest of the 650 UK constituencies.
