It’s all happening in Ventnor this week. First the launch of the Time Travel Heritage Trail and then tonight (Friday) you can watch previously unseen footage of the great storms of 1987.
Ventnor Arts Club plays host to the screening by the Ventnor Local History Society.
Unseen Ventnor
Unseen Ventnor is newly unearthed film footage from their archives and was collated for the Ventnor International Festival by local artists, including Paul Armfield who relives in music the Great Storm of 1987.
There is no charge for entrance, but donations to help fund the Society’s work will be very welcome.
The screening takes place on Friday 23 September between 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at Ventnor Arts Club 13, High Street (the former NatWest Bank).
Childhood memories
Back in 2007, on the 20th anniversary of the great storm, Ced Wells shared his memories as a child with OnTheWight.
You can still read his story.
Next year, of course, will see the 30th anniversary.
