Police on the Isle of Wight investigating the theft of a ‘kneeling Spirit of Ecstasy’ mascot taken from a vintage Rolls Royce in the St Helens area are appealing for information.

The incident occurred some time during the evening of Saturday, January 26 and the early hours of Sunday, January 27, when the owner’s garage was entered and the figurine removed from the bonnet of the car.

Investigating officer PC Lorraine Buxton said: “The kneeling Spirit of Ecstasy figure is very unusual because other Rolls Royce cars were fitted with a ‘flying lady’ mascot and whilst the item is not the original it holds a great deal of sentimental value to the owner, as well costing an estimated £300 to replace.”
