Further to our previous reports on the burst water main at the bottom of Staplers, Newport Southern Water have been in touch with an update.
They told On The Wight, “Repair crews remain on site repairing the burst pipe. The water supply has been diverted, so the vast majority of homes should now have water, although a handful may still be without.
“We hope the repair will be made, and full supply restored to all, later tonight.”
Expect delays in the morning
The road remains closed and according to Southern Water will remain closed into tomorrow morning, to allow the road reinstatement to take place.
They apologise for any inconvenience.
