As many readers will know, later today Ash will be making their way to the Ventnor Winter Gardens in what should be a fantastic night of live music.
Supporting the band on their A-Z tour have been the Panama Kings. It’s been quite a slog for these bands travelling around the UK and working their way through the alphabet.
Reaching Ventnor means the tour is almost over and the lads from both bands are sure to be looking forward to getting back into their own beds at last.
Connecting people
At the end of last week an email from the Panama Kings popped into our inbox, asking if we could help them out.
They told us they couldn’t find a B&B that worked within their dwindling budget, so were on the lookout for somewhere cheap to bed down for the night.
After a few calls around town, we managed to hook them up with a very generous local who happened to have a holiday let sitting empty for a couple of days, giving the band an entire property all to themselves, for just a fiver a head.
“What a result!” was their reaction after having been on the road for weeks and expecting to sleep on someone’s floor for the night.
The Panama Kings will be now able to wander up the hill after their gig at the Winter Gardens and will have the advantage of enjoying the delights of Ventnor the next day before heading to Worcester; eXmouth; Yeovil and Zennor.
We’d recommend a full English breakfast at Besty and Spinky’s (aka The Ventnor Bay Cafe on Ventnor Esplanade).
