If you were tuned into IW Radio yesterday lunchtime then you’ll already have heard our top tips of what to do this weekend and in the coming week.
If you didn’t, then check out the podcast at the bottom to hear our chinwag with Tom Stroud on the mid morning show.
Friday night
We had some great tips for tonight, starting with 13th Brighstone Christmas Tree Festival, followed by Totland Lantern parade and finishing with the Lights of Love services which are taking place all over the Island.
If you’re hankering after a bit of history then you might prefer a film and talk by the Isle of Wight Archaeological Society at the Riverside Centre.
Perhaps live music is more your bag, if so, then you might want to head over to Vectis Tavern in Cowes for Switch, which is Guy Page, Claydon Connor and Craig Egerton-Read.
Alternatively you could head to The Studio in Newport for a brand new night called Circus. Featuring Papa Do Plenty with DJ’s Pablo Riddla, Basshertz, Jakey Chan and Ging and Scratchy from Dexfm.
Saturday
Saturday morning sees a Santa Dash take place in Newport n aid of Age Concern, if you head to Newport for that then why not pop into the Guildhall to take a look at a very special panting of Italian revolutionary Giuseppe Garibaldi. Walk a bit further down the road and you’ll catch the Christmas fair at Jubilee Studios.
There’s loads more events on the Isle of Wight mentioned in the podcast, so why not put your feet up for 10 minutes or so and find out what you can do over the coming week, as well as a very special announcement for football or rugby fans.
Tune in (or log on) to IW Radio every Thursday just after noon to hear our top tips for the coming week. [audio:http://otw-audio.s3.amazonaws.com/2009-12-10-iwradiosrp.mp3]
