If you didn’t tune in to IW Radio for our regular lunchtime slot yesterday, then you would have missed our top tips for things happening on the Island over the coming week.
Fear not though because as usual, we’re publishing a recording of the slot for you to play back at your leisure.
Top of the list for our recommendations is the new exhibition by Island photographers Jason Swain and Paul Blackley at Dimbola Lodge.
Wight Surf History: An exhibition of Surf Photography provides a fantastic insight into the Island surf scene and is part of a larger project to chart the history of Island surfing over the last 50 years.
For the evening, we’d recommend checking out JC and Angelina. They’re old hands on the Island music scene, but continue to keep their performances fresh by inviting guests to perform alongside them.
If you were once a Girl Guide, then the latest exhibition at the Guildhall should bring back some memories for you. 100 Years of GirlGuiding has a wondeful collection of Girl Guide story on the Island, curated by Suzanne Whitewood.
Also recommended for the weekend are two courses taking place at Quay Arts, the first is a watercolour course with well known Island artist, the lovely Martin Swan and the other course is bangle making with another Island creative, Nina Bulley.
If you fancy some music tomorrow night, there’s a choice of The Pretty Things at the Ventnor Winter Gardens or a Piano Recital over in Freshwater.
There’s loads more recommended in the podcast including art house films an open mic music night and live music from Platform One students.
Please note that the Orienteering on Sunday has been cancelled due to waterlogged ground.
