With 26 riders and near perfect conditions, the scene was set for an impressive day’s racing and with James Brett’s (LCM Systems/Wightlink RT) overall winning time of 22 mins 30 secs, James Ebdon’s (LCM Systems/Wightlink RT) 23 mins 10 secs and Matt Harris’s (A3CRG) time of 23 mins 30 secs the course and conditions did not disappoint.
The fastest VRCC riders on the day were Steven Haggerty (8th) in a time of 25 mins 09 secs, with Marcus Attrill ((10th) finishing just behind him in 25 mins 49 secs.
The best of the ladies on the day were Faye Faber (15th) 27 mins 01 secs and Mary Norman of Wight Tri, finishing 21st overall in 31 mins 11 secs. Maria Stevenson was the first VRCC lady home In a time of 31 mins 49 secs.
